Matanzas Fun Run!
January 27th. 5K begins at 8 a.m. Family Fun Run begins at 9:15 a.m. Join in the fun as we race around town! The Recreation Department partners with Ancient City Road Runners to promote a healthy and active life for children ages 5-13 years old as we host our own mini race around St. Augustine. The mile race provides children of all levels the opportunity to participate in their first marathon earning them a blue ribbon and t-shirt on completion of the race. Registration for the Matanzas Fun Run will begin in January so keep your eyes open and your feet moving!
Youth Basketball Registration
Registration for the 2018 Youth Basketball Season-1/1-2/10 Athletes ages 9-14 can register for the youth basketball league beginning January 1st through February 10th. Team tryouts will be held in February, league fee is $30 per player registered. League practices will begin in February; games will begin in March and run through the end of May. Youth Basketball

Summer Camp Lottery Registration
Sign up for the drawing March 5 through March 16, names will be drawn at random on March 24. Summer camp openings are limited, and each year we receive more applications than we have openings for. To give everyone a chance, registrations are taken online with names chosen via random drawing on March 26. Notifications are mailed immediately following the drawing. Super Summer Camps

Annual Easter Egg Hunts
Veteran's Park and Palencia egg hunts will be held on April 13 from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. with the egg hunt beginning at 11 a.m. sharp. Two additional hunts will be held on Saturday, April 15 at the Al Wilkie Park and Treaty Park from 10:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. with the egg hunt beginning at 11 a.m.

Family-oriented event celebrating William Bartram's birthday with the help of local artists and musicians. Held at Alpine Groves park.
2018 Just Tri it! Kids Triathlon
Join us for the 2018 Kids Triathlon on April 15, at 8 a.m. at the Solomon Calhoun Center! Children ages 5-14 can join in the fun and JUST TRI IT! This is a non-competitive event giving everyone the chance to participate in a Triathlon. The first 250 children to pick up their race packets will get a Just Tri It! tee shirt and every child that completes the race will get a medal for their accomplishment! Just Tri It!
Ancient City Kids Day!
Join us in October to celebrate children! Join The Recreation Department as we help EPIC Community Services celebrate the Annual Ancient City Kids Day Event held on Francis Field. This Family Friendly event is sponsored by local St. Johns County Entities that care about the future of our children. The event is filled with games, music, dancing, candy, and much more so join us as we celebrate the Children in St. Johns County this October on Francis Field.
Thanksgiving Food Drive!
Every November the Parks and Recreation Department hosts their annual food drive for the St. Francis House to provide a warm meal to our fellow citizens in need of assistance during the Holiday Season. Join in our race to provide one meal per family that walks into the St. Johns County Food Bank this Holiday Season. Donations of non-perishable items are welcome at our facility by contacting Jamie Baccari at (904) 209-0377.
Phone Calls from Santa!
He’s making a list and checking it twice, he’s going to find out who’s naughty or nice! Parents, you'll be able to sign your child up for their own personalized phone call from Santa. Make sure your little one isn’t left out of the fun as the Recreation Department hosts their annual Phone Calls from Santa event in December.
